Go ahead, call me a newb!

Hello,

I'm getting ready to prep and line all of my bumper covers and cladding with some great new stuff I found, should look pretty hot. I have everything off, except I can not for the life of me figure out the rear bumper cover. I have all of the pop rivets out of the mudflaps, I removed the two bolts next to the tail lights, and I popped out all 4 of the clips underneath the bumper cover itself. It feels like it is being held on by something near the tailgate latch in the center, as both of the sides are hanging down. I don't want to use brute force on it unless that's all it needs, so am I missing a pop rivet/screw?

Matt

Anyways, did you remove that black protector strip on top of the bumper??? I remember removing mine when I took my bumper off

PS very funny, Charlie.

I just got it guys!

I had the black stripping off and still couldn't figure it out. Turns out I actually painted over that tiny screw in the center when I previously lined it, and it made it almost impossible to see. I was running my fingers on the backside of the cover and felt the screw. Popped right off.

I did notice a nice present my uncle (the previous owner) left me. The rear bumper corner is bent back quite a bit, and the stud on the rear quarter panel that is designed to hold the bumper is bent downward. I think I may get it welded back on, as my rear bumper has never lined up flushly with the quarter panel on that side. Oh well!

Matt
