getting driver's door window out

i need help on lowering the glass in the window. the haynes manual says to remove the trim panel and water shield and lower the glass. well that means no power to move the window down! which doesn't matter anyways because my motor is shot so i am trying to replace it, but i have to remove the regulator, which means lowering the glass to get it out. How do i move it manually?

Can you remove the motor itself? Once the motor and its gearbox is out of the loop, there should be nothing holding the regulator from moving.

If not, is there a way to jumper the motor to power and assist it in moving the window?

the regulator cable is attached to the motor. so i took the really hard route and unbolted it from inside the door. that took a few hours. but it works now! i can roll down my window!!!

But i would still like to know how to get the window down when you have electric windows. just a reference for the future.

thanx
