Gas Gauge is stuck on 'E' -Tank is Full

I have a 1994 GC Laredo. Any ideas what's causing this and how to fix.
Thanks very much.

Just a guess but it may be the sending unit. I don't know of any way to check it though. Anyone else know? My Ranger used to do that type of thing. But, I just watched my mileage and filled up every time I drove a certain number of miles I figured out that the truck went before it needed gas. You could try that. You may run out of gas the first time, but it might be cheaper than replacing the sending unit.
