gas fumes in cabin

ive been smelling gas fumes inside my jeep maybe since the last time i filled up a couple days ago. the fumes are only in the back. the only thing i can think of is i screwed down some angle iron in the trunk for bungie cords and maybe the screws punctured the tank? im only using 1 or 1.25in long screws. i recently relocated the angle iron to make room for a 2nd sub which was maybe a little more than a week ago and i never smelled the fumes until now. i havent had any gas cans in the back recently, either. any thoughts?

Unless the filler neck is messed up, I think you may have answered you own question.

You should have your Jeep taken to a service center where they can drop the tank and inspect it for punctures or leaks. If the tank is fine, I would agree with ZeeJay1997 on the filler neck.

he can drop the tank himself and check, cuz here, we don't take our jeeps to shops for little stuff like that

well my worries are that the bolts holding the tank are so rusted i may not be able to get it back in place. plus i have to wait until my tank is nearly empty.
