Fuel injector cleaner

I just picked up a bottle of STP Fuel Injector Cleaner form Canadian Tire, it says to add the whole thing to a full tank of gas. Is there anyreason why I should not use it? Bad for the Jeep?

as long as you have a full tank of gas I dont think its going to hurt.. On my 94 I had an injector that would clog sometimes and make the jeep miss out.. but after I used that stuff I never had the problem again

If your injectors are dirty that stuff is like putting a bandaid on it. Check out www.premiuminjectorservices.com This is the real way to clean injectors.

My friend is convinced that Techron fuel injector cleaner is amazing. I might have to check it out sometime. I just threw in some Mopar CCC last week.

I used the STP Fuel System Cleaner and it worked nice. It doesn't seem to hesitate on steep hills in overdrive as much anymore.

Isn't Mopar CCC an aerosol spray? Or do they have a liquid you can put in the gas tank? If so, do you have the part #?

It's an aerosol. It seemed to help a little bit. I figure since my manifold crapped out I might as well go down the line and take care of stuff to get my mileage up.

the reason it says to use the whole tank is because the regular sized bottles are for tanks under a certain size. they have a larger bottle for larger tanks. you can run your tank down to about 1/2 and then fill it up with alcohol to clean out anything also. will make it really easy to pass an exhaust gas analyzer for a safety inspection also. alot of bmw guys with modified motors do it in cali so they can pass emissions inspections

I don't feel like working on anything at this time so i sold my yj.

I use STP about 3-4 months in all of my vehicles and have for years. Its best to start early instead of waiting untill there is a problem. Remember its a cleaner...... not a fixer.

I donít ever put any additives in my gas tank. I donít believe it hurts or helps. Injectors are one of the most reliable actuators on any vehicle. Leaking O-rings can be common on vehicles with over 175,000miles. Then the next thing to fail would be the solenoid. These issues usually come before clogging is a problem.

maybe the fuel filter is partially clogged and causing a slight hesitation? if you are pretty bored, with how easy these injectors are to get to, you could just pop them out and spray them down with carb cleaner.
