Do a search on fuel level sender in this forum. There are several posts which discuss it.

Bottom line is the the fuel level sender is part of the fuel pump. Bad fuel level sender is a common problem on our Jeeps.

X2 , and if you have to pull the pump , might as well get a new one .

My best recommendation is e-herko on e-bay . Bosch pumps , cheapest price . Stay far away from Airtex

One of these days, I will get a new fuel pump and fix this same problem on mine.

I have been researching it for a long time...procrastinating.
