front (steel) bumper mounting

so im trying to make some brakets to mount my bumper but dont know how I should make them. Does any one have pics of how their aftermarket bumper is mounted? I was thinking of just using plate to mount to thoes 4 holes in the front but didnt know if i should also go down to where the rad. support is for strength. Also should I make it so it bults onto the bumper as well and tie in d rings as well? are there any sights that have the mounting instructions with pics for their bumpers so i know whats out there?

thanks for the help and ill get pics of the bumper when i get home from school today.

Greg

Heres a picture i found online of how the Hanson Offroad bumper mounts

and heres a few pictures i went out and took of my Hanson Offroad mounts

it mounts to the same place that a safari bar or tow hooks would mount
the mounts are pretty beefy

thanks man. thats about what i was thinking. are thoes brakets 1/4 in? i dont have a safari bar or tow hooks but i think i see how its going. Is the "frame rail" sandwitched between the plate on the inside and one on the outside?

it goes

Mount - Body - washers - Bolt

the mounts have the welded on nuts which i recommend if your not welding the mounts right onto the vehicle

i was thinking plate-body-mount-bolt for the pasenger side the mount is to the bumper. is that overdoing it? i even thought of welding the plate right onto the unibody frame.

well the bolts are gonna have to go on the outside not the inside

go take your bumper off and take a look inside those oval holes ... theres no way your gonna fit mounts AND bolts in there

you wont even be able to get nuts in there

thats why you need the mounts with the welded on nuts and then the bolts thread into them from the outside
