Front to Rear swap...can't I just steal front springs?

Off a junkyard vehicle that is, any reason why that wouldn't work? seems like it might be cheaper to just do that and buy the shocks and other goodies new...?

This is my JEEP. There are many like it but this one is mine...

Are you talking about stealing springs for the front or for the rear?

If you get springs from a junkyard, make sure they're from the same type of GC as yours. I think the Outlander (or Overlander....I can't remember) have longer springs than regular GCs. I'd also recommend taking yours to a shop to have the springs put on unless you have the RIGHT tool to compress the spring. About 2 years, I rented a spring compressor from a tool company and they gave me the wrong one. Instead of paying $200 to have the factory springs taken off and the new ones installed by professionals, I ended up paying a $900 doctor bill due to a compressed spring slipping off the tool and hitting me in the head.

well that's a freak accident if i ever heard one... another set of front springs would seem like it would work. that's basically what your doing either ways in some of the 2.5"-3.5" kits

hold the bus , the man`s got a V8 to have the proper rear springs from the the front to swap to the back , he`s looking for a set for the front to give him the 3.5" lift he`s after .

OP , not gonna happen unless you find a lifted ZJ in the junkyard .

I agree, that's why I was asking if he wanted to do the front or the rear.

Guys,

K-Pax's head never looked better than immediately after the spring and compressor separated ways.

I just figured out why this won't work. The new front springs actually have to be longer... nevermind, and thanks for humoring me...

F-150 springs will net some lift, but also ride like crap since they are designed for a significantly heavier vehicle.
