front to rear spring swap???

so i had a buddy tell me that i could move my front springs to the rear and gain about 4" of lift and then i'd just have to buy front springs and shocks and a couple other things. is this a very reliable way to lift a jeep? sorry for these noob questions. i just got out of the import scene and bought my first jeep so im tryin' to figure this stuff out lol. any help is appreciated.

Yea it is possible, IRO sells a kit where you do just that, and it is a pretty cheap kit, the kit comes with 2 coils instead of 4, and you just swap the front to back and discard that back
