front driveshaft removal?

I have just concluded that i need a new front driveshaft. Right now i am unemployed, and extremely low on cash... is it possible to just remove the front DS for the time being, or will i damage something
its a 94 ZJ Laredo with the quadratrac (or w/e its called) full time 4wd. I did a search, but there was only one thread on the subject, so i wanted to get everything clear.

ps... the bonus of 2wd would help w/ burnouts
thanks

kenny

Soon to come: Hanson Enterprise front winch bumper, hand made rear bumper with carrier, hand made skid plates. 242 case is sitting in my garage waiting for a warm day to transplant.

Yes, you may remove the front driveshaft.

The gas mileage won't be all the different.

it's true. because the parking gear uses that front driveshaft as a brake. (i'm totally way off; someone will correct me) anyways.. yah park won't work. just use the side brake. that's waht i had to do for about a month. but for that month i had a very torquey v8 rwd monster who loved to have it's rear kicked out...

I lean toward the Jeeps Unlimited guys on this topic, especially with the ealier GC's. I've read both, so I can't say if it's necessarily wrong or not, but most the times I've read it'd be ok, it was when dealing with a WJ. Now, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, but with changes from Quadra-Trac to Quadra-Drive, I'd imagine the system is more forgiving of having the driveshaft removed.

Lets not forget how the VC on the ZJ's is when everything's working right. Just seems like asking for trouble to me.
