Front Drive shaft behind the CV

joint there is a set of splines on the shaft that goes into the other side. There is a large nut on the TC case side of mine that is loose because I can turn it by hand. So should I be able to turn it by hand, what is it called, and is there a torque this should be torqued to?

96 zj 5.2 all wheel drive

Thanks
Mike

It keeps the plastic melt to lock retainer in place, just tighten it up.

Someone before you probably thought they could adjust the shaft, you can't.

'97 zj 5.2, some stuff, some other suff, and some things that even work sometimes.
