Front Differential Tube

I was working on my car last night and I found a rubber tube that looks like it was cut by the fan. I followed the tube and it connects to the top of my differential. I couldn't find where the opposite side of the tube is. Does anybody know what this is for?

The front differential. I never looked to see if there was a tube connected to the rear.

Its probably just a breather pipe for the diff. The other end will go just lead somewhere above the wading line.

If you look up on the side of your air filter box, you will see a clip it goes into.
