Front Bumper V2.0

My tire hit the outside corner of the bumper to the point where it started trying to rip lugs off, then once backing up uphill flexed out the tire caught the bumper and literally folded it backwards into the tire almost puncturing it. After a crescent wrench, a strap and a tree heres how it ended up.

So the new concept:

With all the opposing angles and such this version is much more rigid than my last attempt. It's also higher clearance and more room for the tire.

Comparison...Old:

And the beginnings of the new:

I may have added a few pounds, but the added strength and security is worth it.

yeah I may have to box the top in also for more strength, and just to make it look good =P.

It's still not the prettiest bumper out there, but it'll definately get the job done for me!

I like it more then the ARB bumpers personally...much lower profile. Only downside is no place for a winch.

Could he cut the front cross member, weld on a plate and reinforce the frame like TRZ (i think) did for his WK. That might be the way to go with a winch and still have an awesome approach angle.

Good to see the armored car bumper evolving a bit.

Haha thanks for the comments guys, got some more work done yesterday.

Readjusted some lines, got it to follow the curves up top a little better.

Comitted on the drivers side...

Built...

Now that its built, I don't like how the inner lines came out so I'm going to cut along the red to make it look better.

Also about the winch, I glanced behind the grill today...a warn 8k is 7.5" deep from what I can see, with the condensor in the winch MIGHT fit if I chopped out the crossmember, it would be close though!

Looks good, but look even better with your beat front license plate hanging on by a screw.

That turned out really cool, good work Greg. It looks like you gained a lot of clearance to stuff those tires even more with the new design. And I agree that cut will make it look better.

Skain, the plate finally ripped off the screw last trip out haha. I still have it, in the same condition that bolt just needs a washer now hahaha.

Brian, yeah I was going for clearance and strength, tucking the lower part up and in actually made the bumper alot more rigid as well.

I pulled the bumper off this morning to do finish welding and the cutting, I think the cutting helped the looks ALOT. I think its actually starting to look good haha.
