Front axle supposed to lock in park?

Hey guys,
I have a 93 ZJ limited with the 249. I had it up on a lift the other day and noticed that in park, the front wheels are not locked together and will spin, unlike the rear wheels which are locked (it was in Park) but the front driveshaft does not spin when i spin the wheels. Is this how it is supposed to operate? (It was in 4 All Time btw it was not in neutral). Please reply!

John

Thanks for the reply I tried it and it worked as it should. I got nervous because its been leaking gear oil and I was afraid I ran it out of gear oil from the last time I filled it and I cooked the dif. All is well though! Just rolled over 184,000 thousand miles!
