found this write up for front hooks...

Would anyone recommend this? I will only be using maybe a couple times a month. No hardcore wheeling or anything, just weekend outings here and there.

Hmm. So far its 1 for yes, and 1 for no. I would just like to add this write up is from 2003, a long time ago! I also found a thread from sept. 19th, 2008, where he is still recommending his own write up to others 5 years later. Interesting.

That is a horrible way to do that. It is cheap and the hooks will rip that unibody apart. Get the brackets or the KOR radiator support.

Don't be stupid and get hurt.

My thought is why risk it. Ya you could make something cheap that might work but wouldn't you want to totally confident it will. Doing stuff like is how flying projectiles start coming of the jeep. Do it right for your safety and everyone else.

As stated, just do a KOR radiator support. Not that expensive, gives lower rad protection, and real recovery points.

The answer is abso****ingloutly no.

A straight pull with enough force will rip those right out.

If you really wanted to kill someone, a gun would be less effort.

Good reply, thats what I was waiting to hear. I figured as much. Just to make this clear, I wasnt really asking for my own personal use, (ok just a little, but I really wasnt gonna do it !) im not that desperate or cheap yet I was actually searching for tow hooks for sale on google and that happened to pop up. I was more curious to see what you guys thought of a guy clearly giving questionable advice to many other off roaders. If anyone wheels with this club, be careful pulling zj's out.
