Ford Taurus E-fan?

What is so special about these that makes GC owners want to upgrade? There are a few for sale locally, so I am just wondering what the hype is versus the stock e-fans in our GC's

you don't have e-fan in your ZJ unless it's 5.9

I converted mine for... 1)to get rid of the clutch fan dragging on the motor. 2) the ability to turn off the fan during water crossings. 3) faster morning warm up. 4) Free up more room on the front of my motor for my York OBA

Same here, I'm doing the e-fan conversion right now. All of the above, plus the fact that on high you could cool off a jet engine with that fan.

Time to put one in the Wife's ZJ then. Is this also a common upgrade for the WJ?

I considered the "Taurus"...
Went "Flex-a-lite"...
A club member even had 1 I could have FREE but the Flex-180 comes w/ALL hard-wear, wire, mounts & Adj. stat...& a warranty...
Flex-a-lite pulls 3300 cfm @ 12 amps...
Taurus pulls like 2400/2800 cfm @ near 80 amps & you have to fab all your own wiring & mounts...
Flex runs around 200' w/AC running in the desert ALL DAY...
My 2 cents...M...VP. S.P.O.R.A.

The Taurus fan does pull around 85 amps INITIALLY FOR START UP ONLY, then drops below 40 amps for continuous draw. This is for the "high" speed.

For low speed, the continuous draw is below 12 amps.

what flex a lite fan did you go with?

how did you all wire it up? to a switch inside or automatically off temp or what?

just curious, have to replace radiator soon and may end up going e-fan
