flooded fog lamp

First time on this Board - looks like plenty of good advice and info given here. I purchased a 2000 JGC last weekend and have been busy detailing the car, changing plugs, etc. Noticed one fog light was not working - ordered bulb and when I replaced it, I found the fog lamp housing half full of water. I'm thinking of a quick fix like drilling a small hole in bottom of the light housing to drain and keep drained. Any problems with this fix? thanks

that sure is a lot of water......

drilling a hole in it i think would cause condensation/ moisture to keep getting trapped in there...besides you would have to drill a hole at the top too so it would drain properly.......you should check around it to see if you can find a hole/crack/or any open space anyhere...if water touches your hot bulb it will cause it to break....or burn out.

if possible take the fog light off, or if ya cant do that, take the bulb out and somehow get the majority of the water out of the fog light and then have a fan pointed towards it...to dry the excess water, then maybe run some silicone along the edges of the foglight where you may think the water/condensation is going in...
