fixing this rot hole

This rot hole has been developing on the front drivers side. The rest of the frame is in great shape. How would one fix this hole!

Cut out the rusted area, weld/screw in some sheet metal, spray a few coats of undercoating, profit.

I feel like the curvature in it makes it difficult to weld sheet metal to.

I have that hole in the exact same spot. Caused the metal evap line to rust out. Used some of that yellow insulation foam in the spray can. Problem solved.
