Fender Trimming

For all of you who are wanting to run 33s on ~4" of lift. This is the trimming that I recently did to clear 33s. They did not rub prior to trimming until I disconnected the sway bar. My cutting process went something like this:

Tape off fenders w/ blue painters tape. Use sharpie to draw line to cut. Cut w/ jig saw. I was able to cut everything except for down by the rockers with a jig saw. The remaining couple of inches I had to use a grinder for. I did what most people do and I use door edge molding to hide the cuts and prevent sharp edges.

It just goes to show you can't always tell the depth of the well by the length of the handle on the pump.

The pinch seam is pretty flat actually. No I didn't do the back yet - actually there was just a tiny little bit of rubbing on the bumper cover so I didn't bother.

Looks great. I bet you could flatten the pinch seam another 1/4 inch at least.

You got any before pics? I have a WJ and doing a 4 inch lift and worried about the trimming.. I want 33's but dont want to do alot of damage cause jeep will be just for show. And you dont have a front bumper so its hard to tell if the33's will work in my occasion.

Yeah I didn't get out the big sledge, just the 3 lb'er. Next time I have the front wheels off I'm going to get the 10lb sledge out and beat them down further.

I do have a front bumper cover, I just didn't have it on because I hadn't trimmed it yet. Here are some pics before the trimming with 33s.

How bad did it rub before you trimmed? Alot or not alot? And did you trim the inside of the fender well or the actual bumper itself.... I dont want to deal with trimming my actual bumper cause gonna try and keep the WJ lookin clean. But it minor inside trimming was needed I might can do that. Thanks and it looks sick
