Factory security system is trippin the kill switch.

Got a friend with a 93 318 4wd cherokee. The security feature on his jeep has been messed up for awhile. Everytime it happens he has had it towed to the shop because it won't start. Him and my cousin by-passed it by jumping a wire off the starter to a button in the cab. It starts on demand now but the security light flashes the entire time its running. Has anyone had this problem or know how to fix it ?
