engine swap question
 
:wave: I have a 98 zj w/ the 4.0. the motor is about smoked. I picked up a 93 w/ a 4.0 for cheep. pulled the motor out of the 93 ( runs great) and i am going to swap it into my 98. is there any problems i might run into?
any help would be great!!!!!! thanks!!!!!!!!!!

You can pretty much only use the short block from the 94. You'll want to use everything else from the 98.

As rat stated...you'd need to use just the bottom end (block/pistons).
All the top end (head, sensors, intake, injectors, all electronics) are different.

If you're gonna tear it that far down, may as well just rebuild yours....

i would but it is my DD and cant have it down but for a weekend. i do plan on having the short block (93) redone and maby bord out 30 or 40 over.

getting it bored, you're into new pistons as well as rings. if it needs a clean up, do .005, you can make that gap up with rings, after .015 you need new pistons and you're getting into a $$$ rebuild.
