Engine swap?

I have a totaled zj with the 5.2 and a tired jeep with the 4.0, how hard would it be to put the 5.2 in the 4.0? What all would I need?

you have technically just about everything you need if you still have the zj, just pull the engine and trans, t case if you want to use that one, steal the wiring harness, youll have to modify it/get it modified, i recommend novak, not sure you may steal the fuel regulator from the zj unless its regulated from the engine, i dont think it is, you can probably get away with your radiator from the 4.0, i've seen it done. and drive shaft modification which is easy

all you really need to buy is the new engine mounts, also recommend novak for that. you may find it easier to use your current trans from your wrangler in which case you may need an adapter bellhousing which you can get from just about any conversion place, novak/Advanced adapters. and lots of nuts and bolts. if you plan out everything well you can get it done in a week or so, don't start until you have all the parts otherwise you'll be down for months easily

edit: not sure what trans is stock in the zj, this is just a basic list either trans may work from ratmonkey's sig it looks like his zj has an nv3500 which is also used in some wranglers which means you could technically use either trans and retain your old transfer case if you'd like

The swap is from zj to zj not zj to wrangler. Sorry if I wasn't very clear when I wrote it, it was late.

The years would be a 95 with the 5.2 and a 94 with the 4.0

Sorry for the lack of info.

Swap over everything under the hood trans, trans computer, engine, engine harness, engine computer, etc...

Definitely need the complete donor to do this.
