Engine Surge
My 2000 4.7L sometimes has an engine surge. Occassionally it will stumble/surge while idling and while cruising down the highway. While cruising at 65-70 I will notice the RPM increase by approximately 400 RPM and then go back to normal. It will keep doing this cycle until I push the accelerator pedal way down and then it will run normal again. On the highway it will run normal for another half hour or so after I push on the pedal and then the same thing again. Seems to happen more often with cruise control engaged. I have recently had both speed sensors replaced on the transmission, new plugs installed and fuel system cleaned in hope this would fix the problem. Any Ideas?? Also today the check enging light came on with a code of P0207. any ideas on that???

P0207 indicates a problem with the #7 injector, which might be enough to cause the symptoms you're seeing.

Took the advise of a transmission shop and replaced the TPS and bingo all problems are fixed and the engine starts and runs a lot smoother.
