Are we talking you into the V8 or are you talking us into the 6?

One more vote for the V8, get a HO one if you can find it, better tranny, plenty of power.
Really? Are you talking about the stock cooler in the rad.? Is it aftermarket? Any pics? Now you've got me thinking. Not to threadjack... This is the info I'm going off of.

X23 for the V8

I juuuuust bought an 02 Overland withj the 4.7 HO.....man it's a screamer! First tank of gas is averaging 17.2mpg (mostly city).....I suspect it will increase after I get over the initial V8 PLAY I am doing.

I have already fixed the heated seats, and Cruise ($0.00...only have the climate to fix now $200)

I love my new WJ.

+128. I just bought my '02 Overland as well last week. Love this thing. Huge upgrade coming from 4 different XJ's. 4.7HO FTW!

You must not step into it much. 17.2 is not too bad with the HO. I cant get near that with my standard v8.

haha...ya...compared to my other Jeeps I don't have to dig very deep in that 4.7 to blast the doors off.

I seafoamed the motor and reset the MPG computer too....it was averaging 15.8 with the last owner.

I owned a '94 zj with the 4.0 for almost 15 years and was always happy with it (the engine that is; the transmission was another story). Now I have an '02 WJ with the 4.7 V8; more power, smoother and like everybody says the mpg is about the same.

Past: '94 Laredo 4.0 242
Current: '02 Laredo 4.7 242

I have an 01 with the V8 and I have the external tranny cooler along with the powersteering cooler. Wish they made the HO in 01 though

Actually, I got some trivia for you.

Chrysler made a very small number of HO WJ's in '01. Those are the WJ's with the rare 3.91 gears.

I found a WJ with a v8... my question is no tow package stock... does it come with the added tranny cooler? or is that for only v8s with the tow package?

thanks
