Electrical gremlins TPS/IAC
Hi. Last week after sustained highway driving, my cel cam on and at the first stop I pulled a 0121 and fuel injector codes. To address the 0121, I replaced the TPS and IAC (I was playing with it and took it apart so I just said hell).
When I put everything back, the injector codes were gone. The road test proved that the truck would not shift. Took the TPS off, made sure it was on right and then road test. It shifted, but the CEL came back 0121. After about a mile or two at 40MPH, the trans forced a downshift, bucked and went back to normal. Ditto after another few miles.
Anyone ever have this happen? Wife says if electrical gremlins, Jeep goes for a diesel pickup. But I like my Jeep.
Got the TPS at Danger Zone here in Joliet, might it be a defective one? But then again, was there anything wrong with the old?
Any advice much appreciated. 114K miles.
