ECU part numbers for 94 GC 5.2

OK, I have gotten two different junk yards telling me that the following part number on the ECU should work on my Jeep.

My ECU has 56029302 and theirs says 56028112.

Does anyone know if theirs was a replacement, and if so, if it will work on my 1994 5.2L GC???

And do they need to be VIN reflashed?

thank you for your help!!!!

You're probably better off purchasing a new ECU. The best deal would be the Mopar Performance ECU, if not for the excellent power gain, then for the fact that it's cheaper than a stock replacement. You do have to run premium fuel, however.

If you purchase a salvage yard ECU, you can't reflash the VIN or mileage - it's permanently stored in the ECU. Your Jeep is OBD I, so it should function OK, but with OBD II Jeeps (1996 and later) very strange things can occur because of the conflicting VINs and the fact that the ECU communicates with the body control module. I've heard stories of random lights flashing, locks locking and unlocking, etc. There's no BCM on the OBD I Jeeps, so that haunted stuff won't happen.

That great to hear!

My BF found the bad cap. it is a 220MDF 25V 105C. he got it out and will fix it and see if it works. it was leaking. possibly replace all of the bad capacitors. Digi-Key has them.
