Early ZJ blower barely blows
What gives? all the settings work throughout, the range from low to high is adjustable, (not just one setting works) but the highest setting now is blowing at about 50% what it used to, just not alot of air flow. When I turned it on for the first time this year, the fan made a ticking noise and wasn't working great, now the ticking is gone, but still hardly any air flow? what's the big deal?
I had a mouse in the jeep for a while, could have possible made a nest in the air passages, but very doubtfull, and the fan sounds very slow and quiet on the high setting, last year is was very powerfull.

you have the chrysler curse All chryselers bring air thru your wiper cowl the thing between you wipers that has holes in it This cools off your resistor pack used to control you fan speeds except high It also brings in leave, water and other things ...ITS time you take off you wipers and wiper cowl and clean out your drain. sounds like you need a new resistor pack around 20$ and maybe a new blower motor cheap at junk yard. if you need more help send me an email address and i will send pics.

check your blower for mice nests. I've seen a LOT of mice nests in blower fans lately.

Well no wonder the damn thing didn't blow! Not a mice nest, as far as I can tell, seems to just be insulation and a few leaves, no food or mouse crap, doesn't smell like mice either, possibly just 16 yeas of intake. All cleaned out and put pack in, blows ALOT harder, although the far right and far left vents on the dash, closest to the doors, both have weaker pressure than the center vents, seems like thats just the way it is but I can't recall? I also opened up the cowl space under the wipers, clean as a whistle, the screens on the other hand have some twigs and leaves in them that are a PITA to get out.
The ticking noise must have been the leaves flying adound ![]() ![]() ![]()

YUP....that's exactly what all the ones I've taken apart lately looked like. Mice and critters can do that sometimes for a warm place, but they don't actually live there because the first time you turn it on it'll scare the **** out of them and they leave later. But that's definitely what I expected yours to look like. Glad you fixed it.
