Dynomax didnt change

i have a 94 grand cherokee with 4.0 and i just bought a dynomax super turbo muffler and when i put it on it didnt change the sound that much, now it just sounds liek a V8 cherokee.
when i got the muffler it didnt come with instructions so i just put it on, one end of it had an offset outlet and the other end had in the center i put the center to the cat, noiw if i switch it around wil it change, or does it need to be broken in, or is that how its gonna sound for good??? thanks!

That's pretty much how its going to sound. I had the same expierence with a Dynomax on my Ford Ranger. Except I could'nt hear it unless I stood behind it.
