Durango Air Hat

Other than getting the air hat from a jy what would need to be done for it? Would I need to just put it on and voila, or do trimming and cutting things etc?

I have a 97 5.2

Pretty sure you have to trim the underside of your hood (bracing) or it won't close. It's quite a bit taller than stock.

That's not bad, I was expecting to have to do a bit more than that.

No I think that's it. If you search I think there's a couple write ups about it.

Like you said about the 5.9, it should be the same, but you may not even have to do as much since the 5.9 is a little bigger. Here's that 5.9 Link Though it might be helpful.

Should be the same intake and everything. If you put a 5.2 & 5.9 long block side by side most couldn't tell them apart.

The 5.9 and 5.9 block is the exact same. Only internals are different.

Usually the 5.9 is the same as the 5.9. Except in some rare cases.

I was under the impression that the 5.9 was the same as the 5.9 except for the 5.2 which is like a 5.9 but in most cases like a 5.2 bring on the vodlka

I'll say this, if you try to clock the air hat twards the airbox opening like I did it in the 5.9 thread, your gonna have major clearance issues once you replace your motor mounts. Basically I'm going to have to move my battery to where the airbox is now so I can flip the airhat around and point it the other way to put the fat side at the rear plus fab up some sort of cold air setup so as to not be sucking up engine heat. At this point its either that or pick up one of the Spectre air hats summit sells

I didn't angle mine as you know but I did notice that the motor sat up much higher after the mm repair. I put a couple washers under the hood bolts for a little extra room. You know. More cushion for the pushin.
