Check the Rear Light, I think I had clicked it off at one point, and all the interior lights stopped working. Once I clicked it again they all worked. LOL

its not the rear light. i know if that is off then the lights wont come on but this is different because sometimes they wont go on at all when i open the door and sometimes i will open the door and 30 seconds later the lights will randomly come on. if i open any of the other doors the lights will come on right away so i have singled the drivers door as the problem. is there a switch or sensor that tells the lights to go on? how hard is it to change???

Looks to be a Door Jamb Switch, and a Door Module, that could be the problem

What about just cleaning out the latch in the door. Sometimes the grease covers the contact.

The switch might be stuck in or to address another posters issue with the light always being on, get a small flat head screw driver and pry out the middle of the button (it can be adjusted) and then that should fix the issue. At least it did on mine. I think mine is worn out because I have to adjust it every few weeks because it slides back in.

If you are looking from the outside in, its on the right side, below the metal piece for the latch. It's a round little black button shaped protrusion.

Dont mean to state the obvious but do you have the dome over-ride switch on?
