Driver Door Module or Body Control Module

2004 Gr Cherokee. Driver door power windows/locks/mirrors do not work. Interior light has to be turned off manually. Passenger door controls are fine.

Half of the forums point to the BCM and the other half say its the DDM. The door ajar indicator is OFF so its not the latch.

Both parts are expensive so I want to test to verify which one it is before I order.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi
First place to start is checking the wires from the door to the body where it bends with the door, very common for the wiring to break.
Regards,
Merlin

I had the same thing on an XJ. I changed the door control, @ $245, and it did not fix it. Found a broken wire in the rubber boot from the drivers door to the body.

If you don't have time to do it right the first time, how do you have time to do it over.

It's fixed - broken wire

Thanx much for the tip. It took me a while to get around to fixing it but there was 1 broken wire, i believe the ground, in the boot between the door and the body. There was also another with 2 cracks in the shielding. I will probably have to replace the wiring harness eventually, but at least its not the control modules.

Time to fix, 10 minutes. Cost $0!!!!
