Doug Thorley Header Gaskets...

Well my Thorley header gaskets blew and I got to change them. The bolts keep loosening up and it ruined the gaskets. I just order a new set from Summit. I never did this before as I had the shop that installed my new motor install the headers as well. Any suggestions/tips? How can I keep the bolts from backing out this time? My uncle said that locktite will just burn off. It's annoying if I got to check the bolts every month since they arent the easiest to get to.

Exhaust is probably hotter than 300 degrees... Try locking tabs or safety wire...

Yeah it sure is....I didn't even read what temperatures that was rated for, just saw it said "high temp".

Actually come to think of it, I actually used anti-sieze on my manifold bolts in case I ever have to remove them again, and I haven't had any problems with them backing out or coming loose.

Cancelled with Summit because the gaskets are on backorder. Called Thorley and they are shipping them out today. The guy Randy said that my header bolts are suppose to have lock washers, which the stupid mechs who put my motor in did not do.
