Door problem

I have an -94 Grand Cherokee Limited.
I canīt open the back door, rear hatch. The electric lock seems to work..., but the handle have nothing to grip on. Something have brooked. My question is: Is it possible to get in to the lockmechanism from inside the Jeep ? How does it look inside ?
