Don't want to trim? Don't like bumper covers? Cheap Alternative! *Pics*
Hello all,
I was feeling bored and down so nothing like a spontaneous project and some good tunes to cure that! Decided I didn't like the look of the bumper covers anymore as they had been trimmed down to barely nothing anyways, so I headed out to the autoparts store. For 15 dollars worth of Duraliner Truck Bed Liner, some primer, 15 minutes of bumper removal, and a nice wash before, this is what 'ya get! The paint was wet so the contrast looks really off with the rest of the dirty Jeep but it looks really good in person. These were taken at night so they're not the best but I'll be sure to host some daytimers tomorrow. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() And for good measure, the temporary messy working area! ![]() I figured I would go ahead and do it seeing as the entire thing is reversible if I want to throw the covers back on. ![]() Matt

Seems like a good idea, but personally, I don't like the naked look it leaves behind.

heck yea.... i ran bumperless for a year or so. awesome approach and departure angle but if someone bumps into you, you're pretty much SOL.

I like the front w/o the cover, not so much the back. But why bother with the bed liner? If you wanted it black a $3 can of spray paint would do the job... personally, I think it looks fine body-coloured.

I use zip ties as well, however those plastic rivets are available just about anywhere there is motor oil. So yes, once you remove the bumpers you can indeed re-install them.
I chose the bed liner black because at only 2 dollars more per can you get a very durable and textured spray. I opted to paint them because there was a bit of surface rust on some areas of the rear. I sanded it down really well, sprayed some rust inhibitor, primed it and then painted. Once the rear was painted there was no way i could have a naked front! Matt

How do you think Ringle will look with a bull bar and more lights on the front?
