It isn't worth it unless you also do exhaust.
If you let more air in with an intake, it will bottleneck at the stock exhaust and you won't feel a difference.
If you only do an exhaust, the backpressure, or lack thereof, will also not make a difference other than sound.

Its cool! I have it. Its just neat seeing it under the hood. It doesnt do anything besides look cool and make a little bit of noise. But thats enough for me. 300 bucks isnt alot for me to spend on a vehicle, b/c I love my jeep so I dont really mind the money. Others might disagree!! If you want it for performance think twice, it wont do anything. If you want it for looks and a clean engine bay and some noise, get it!

Exactly. If you want power, dont be a victim of marketing like most folks and just start adding stuff. Just spend 40 bucks on a K&N drop in and know you have a good high flow filter that is reusable.

IDK where you get $300 from, I had mine DELIVERED for 200. Look around, you'll find deals.
The K&N kit, as said before, works best with an exhaust as well. THere's a very slight increase in performance, but its mostly for the whoosh. I'm purchasing Kolak's cat back this summer, so I'm kinda doin stuff in steps.
So, it's all about what your plans and preferences are. Plus, it looks cool

no, just wishful thinking.
i guess its supposed to be installed as a mod with other mods. if you improve the air being sucked in the engine, for example - you would need to improve the exhaust to compensate. the stock air box really doesnt have a big enough restriction that would affect gas mileage. if it did, chrysler would have designed it differently.

I didn't feel like the cost justified the gains, so I dropped in the K/N filter, opened up the front airbox hole more, and also removed the baffle from the snorkle tube. Got all the supposed gains for under $50.
