1. Is it a limited?

2. I think stock suspension is 18" from center of tire to bottom of fender.

3. Could request a build sheet

4. Do you have skid plates and tow hooks?

5. Are your shocks mounted "upside down" ie; gas shocks? U/C shocks are made by Sachs and that name is stamped at the top of mine.

Yes, it is a limited. I'll have to go measure here in a minute. I assume the 18" is for the upcountry coils, correct?

no 18 is regular.

And like stageninja said the shocks are a sure way to tell, but being an 13 year old vehicle probably not gonna be original. The skids and two hooks though weren't exclusive to UC.

Okay well I just measured and its 18 inches. So I guess I have normal coils. The shocks are senstrack? and they're mounted upside down..

True about the skids and tow hooks but if a vehicle has U/C suspension from the factory it also came with the skid pkg. If you don't have factory skids and hooks then you wouldn't have U/C

If the sensatracks are gas shocks you may or may not have the coils. There is a double letter code on a tag on the coils. I will look tomorrow when I go out and see what the code is on mine. Something like UU or JJ... I remember those letters because I have made the transfer of U/C from my parts Jeep to the V-8 suspension that came with my current Jeep. Just don't remember off hand which code is for which springs.

Go to your local Jeep dealer, give them your VIN and ask for them to print the "STAR NETWORK - Vehicle Information Report." It will give you the complete report of every option your Jeep had on it from the factory, including info like the amp output rating of your alternator. The report will also tell you the exact date and time your Jeep was built.

My '96 ZJ had the Up Country Suspension Group, Code AWE. (But it doesn't have that suspension any longer.)

After looking under all three Jeeps, Rear coils are I-6= JF, V-8= JG and the tags on my U/C coils are gone but my guess is JU or UU as I remember having a U on the tag.

Okay so now that I have verified that I do not have upcountry coils, I have a second question:
I want to lift my rig with the F>R swap. I know that Iro has the 3.5 foundation series kit for 329.99 - IRON ROCK OFF ROAD: ZJ 3.5" Foundation Series Kit

Do I aboslutely need everything in that kit? Or if i just buy the new front coils and all new shocks will i be okay?

A super easy way to check for OEM UpCountry suspension is to look at the bumpstops. There are spacers (about 3/4") between the bumpstops and the "frame," both front and rear, on the UpCountrys I've seen. There are no spacers on any other stock ZJ bumpstops that I know of.
