disturbing... do your jeep a favor..
changed out the fuel filter on my 96 and this is what came out. i wish i woulda done it sooner.

hah its prob never been changed. at least since ive had it, i never really thought about it although i should have. idles smoother.

Just for reference if anyone searches, sometimes you have to reuse the old clips with the new filter, so no ripping/cutting/tearing them if you can help it. I replaced mine with a Wix and had to reuse the old clips.

my 98 zj 5.9L fuel filter is in the fuel tank right?? its not in the same spot as my 93...

Geez. Every two years - rain, snow, ****, or mud. At least.
And mine's RENIX, so I use regular hose clamps to stick the filter on (until I get around to that -5AN or -6AN retrofit I've been wanting to do...)

Yeah, I'm positive this thread has pushed me over the edge to doing mine when I get it back. Who knows the last the PO did this, if ever! 176k and counting.

GrandJC78, did you happen to run your had on the inside of the tank? There was a TSB on 96 tanks. Seems over time the inside turns to a gell that would clog up the FP's.
