I got this email reply from K&N:
The Aircharger for your vehicle is the same as a FIPK physically. When we release a new kit for a vehicle it is released as an Aircharger. We then turn the kit into the State of California for testing to make sure that it works with the vehicles sensors. Once the State approves the kit it is discontinued as an Aircharger and turned into a FIPK. Generally the kit stays the same as long as the State doesnt make us change anything on the kit.
To view the installation instructions you can log onto our website at http://www.knfilters.com/aircharger/aircharger.htm
and click on kit 63-1048.
This kit is pending to become emissions legal. There is no ETA on when it will become emissions legal.
