I know this is a really stupid question to many of you but how do I find out what gears I have in my rear diff to see if that mach the front axle I have brought.

There should be a tag on the diff saying if it has 3.55 or 3.73. What engine do oyu have and do you have a factory tow package. You also could request a build sheet from Chrysler. It is located in the F&Q section.

Open up the diff cover and look on the ring gear for some numbers stamped into it. It'll list the gear ratio and/or the number of ring/pinion teeth. Ring Teeth / Pinion Teeth = gear ratio.
