It's got 245/75/16 treadwright guard dogs-ten ply, OME HD coils, 5.9. A far as the motor running smoothly it's an improvement. The difference between the 703's I had in there and these 789's are that the 789's are professionally rebuilt and I did the 703's at home. I could have squeezed out better mpg's but the thought of going 65mph for 6 hours made me nuts. Anything after that and my mpg's drop pretty good. I punched it from 70- 90 once and it felt nice and solid.

On my last 5.2 I had headers and full 3" exhaust with a mopar performance computer. That really made a difference especially at highway speeds. It took way less throttle to get going. It made me think about doing the exhaust on this one.

I did notice that when I got up in altitude quickly in the mountains that the motor lost power for a little bit. I noticed the same thing back west too. The computer had to adjust then it was fine.

I am being lazy and not reading through the previous pages. Why did you go from 703 to 789? I currently am running the 703s in a 4.0.

I got the 703's from two junked neons and I thought they were causing me to run a little rich. I leaked tested them 3 times but they are working fine. Turned out to be the cat converter. I rebuilt them with new baskets and stuff but I wanted some professionally rebuilt injectors. You know, flow matched and all that so I got the 789's because they were at a good price and I was still suspecting the that there was something off about the 703's. I could have kept the 703's and been fine in hind sight but the 789's are great. My motor runs smoother with them than the 703's I had in there.

ford injectors

hello all, I just read through all 37 pages of this thread and seen a few guys asking about the ford injectors in the 4.0. I bought some reman injectors off of ebay awhile back and got them out and their ford models . the guy never said anything in his add about them being from ford. the numbers on the injectors are 028015039 and 0280150943. they claim to be flowed and matched sets as replacement for the 94 4 liter engine. has anyone heard of these or used them? I googled the numbers and came up with a 4.6L ford engine injector but mine is currently getting decent fuel mileage and was just looking for a little better power out of it with the 4 hole injector swap. my jeep has 144k miles and no cat with a 2 1/2" exhaust on it and it seems like I have to shutoff overdrive to pull a 1200 lb. trailer. any help will be appreciated.

I used the 703s on my 4.0. Actually couldn't find the right fords at the jy. Don't expect a power increase, rather a smoother idle, and a smoother acceleration.

Anytime you tow you are supposed to shut off the overdrive.

I towed for 3hrs straight with the ZJ, overdrive on because I was cruising at 60 and it never downshifted. If you feel your transmission downshifting a lot, that's when turning overdrive off is critical. I've hauled a bed full of logs to my cabin and had to turn tow/haul mode on in the 13 Ram. It was downshifting every hill.

installed the 4.6L injectors yesterday. deff has a smoother idle and maybe a lil more power. not bad for $60.

Still rockin' my 703s. I've had them in since 7/2012. At the same time I did the injectors I threw on a header and a WJ intake. Then a couple weeks later did my entire exhasut system in 2.5" piping.


Jeep is still slow lol

I need rebuilt ones though, don't have the time right now to rebuild them myself.
