Definite transmission issue.

Ended up changing out my Governer Pressure Sensor, to fix my "not shifting" problem. NOW, I had a long day at work. I drive home, to hear a lot of grinding, then a big clunk. My Jeep won't go forward, nor reverse. Doesn't seem to catch ANY gears. I got it towed back to my house (which was a mile away) and let it sit there. Just went outside to start it, and pulled it into my driveway before hearing the horrible *whirring* then no gears. >__<
About to throw in the towel on old ZJ and get a Wrangler. Any thoughts?

Sounds like what mine is doing, except it was perfectly fine, no slipping or anything and all of a sudden heard a grinding noise and bam, down hill from there. Mine will catch gears fine, until it gets warmed up, then it won't grab anything, but it will still idle just fine. But, I'm taking money out this week and its going in the shop next week to have it rebuilt or whatever it needs to be done. I'll let you know what mine is, I'll post it on my build thread.

I'm going to have the shop look at both my tcase and tranny. I've had a noise coming from the tcase for years now but never affected anything. I'm having them fix it all while its out and what not.

Transfer Case linkage.. Never really thought of that. It did sound like small whirring. Idk I'll look into it.

Never thought about that for my whirring problem before...the sound got worse if you moved the transfer case shifter (from side to side). I'll look into the linkage if they don't fix it at the shop next week. It was making a whirring noise at 35+ mph

Starting to think it's a transfer case issue. Just started my Jeep up, and drove fine, WHILE COLD. As soon as it started warming up, I notice a slight buzzing from my transfer case. I felt it, and it was shaking a little. Gonna take it apart and check everything out.
