Deck lid dent help

Hello I have a 98ZJ that has been backed into a tree.On the right half of the deck lid is a huge dent. I have tried pulling the paneling off and beating the dent out but cant get to it. Any ideas on how to cover it up? I have a jerry can and holder I can install on it but dont know how it would look cause my Jeep is at stock height.

As for the dent, hard to advise on how to remove it without seeing it to know how bad it is or the exact location of it.

As for the gas can to hide it, maybe, again depending on the dent. If you're mounting it directly to the liftgate I carry the can empty as the weight of a full can would probably tear the sheet metal of the gate.

As for how it would look, to be diplomatic, I am not a fan of that look unless it's combined with a swingout tire carrier, but I figure as long as the person whose name is on the title likes it more power to them.

Don't install anything on the lift gate. It's just straight dangerous.

'97 zj 5.2, some stuff, some other suff, and some things that even work sometimes.
