dash lights wont work

My dash lights and HVAC lights used to work just fine. I installed a new deck in my car one night and when i connected one of the wires (antenna to amp on the deck) the dash lights and HVAC lights shut off. I put it off for a few days thinking if i disconnected the battery and reconnected it would fix it. It didnt. I have command start and when i command start all my lights turn on as they should (including my dash and HVAC) but as soon as i put the key in and press the brake pedal (or anything) the lights shut off, even if its night time.
im at a loss now.

1995zj,

I had the same problem. The fix was to spray 3M 16-103 contact cleaner onto the breakers an into the switches behind the dash. Hope that works for you.

You should have a fuse box under the hood, about 60% of the time mositure gets in there a will do harm to the electric fitting...give it a good spray down with contact cleaner.

ok so i checked my new deck wires and played around with it and then i decided to maybe try the simple thing and check the mini fuses... 2 of them were blown. on top of my lights not working my auto lock/unlock didnt work. I replaced both fuses and now shes golden
