Dangling Hose/Front Differential

I have a 98 GC v6--the other day, I noticed a black hose dangling on the ground--it is running from the back side of the front differential case (the side facing the firewall)--can't tell where it came loose from.

Anyone know?

It's your front differential vent hose. It's important that you reattach it above the differential so that water doesn't get in it when driving through the rain or fording a stream and contaminate your diff gear oil!
It happened to me too!

If you take a look on the side of your breather box (the side closest to the radiator), you will see some plastic clips. These are what the vent line clip into. Route it in such a way that it forms an upside down 'U'.

PLEASE.....Say I6 or 4.0L

V6 is what a car dealer says because they have no freaking idea what they are talking about.
