Only came with rear discs and 3.73 so you will need to make sure the gears match yours. You might need some driveshaft work.

4.56 or even 4.88 would be better with the 4.0

If you have 3.55 in the front you're going to need a new carrier anyway

Carrier break between 3:55 & 3:73.

definitely suggest 4.56 for 33's with a 4.0 or 4.6 equipped zj.
no carrier break on the 44a, but if you have 3.55's up front you'll need a new carrier there because of the break.

When you regear the 44a, be sure and have someone experienced with that axle do it or at least get all the tech info you can. They must be set up with .005-.006" back lash to avoid the dreaded gear howl. The guy that installed 488s in mine years ago, had to set the gears three times before it was acceptable. Even then it was never as quiet as the stock 373s were.

thanks fellas

http://www.ringpinion.com/ has many options for the d44a the trick is to find the same for the d30 upfront. maybe its because im coming from dragracing but the gear sets seem very reasonable. plus randys has always takin care of me.
@ Crasher thanks ive done quite a few gear set ups and feel comfortable with this one. if anything i usually end up being overkill on the set up. ive blown a few rear ends and left 1 on the launch pad. lol
