D44a open to LSD
ok so i killed a carrier bearing the other day and now i have to take it alll apart.. im pretty sure that some D44a came with a factory LSD, is this true, is so sence i have to take it all apart i would like to throw in the factory LSD if its cheap enough, any one know where i can get a kit liket his and how much?

Kolak should be able to get you a carrier that has the LSD .. or really anyone that deals DANA/SPICER stuff should be able to get it.. i think i once got quoted 170 for an open D44a carrier

it usually didnt come stock with an lsd.
it was an option tho. it came stock in 98 5.9 d44a's tho. i have a trac lock sitting in my garage. im gonna get it installed for the price of a 6 pack

Or you can get an Aussie locker for it. I just happen to know where to get one!
I think Vari-Loc or Trac-Loc's will be about the same or more.

I bought my Track Loc with seals and bearing from Kolak for about $580 I think.

i bought a d44a with trac lock out of a 98 5.9 ZJ for $300 i just got it regeared to 4.10 and had new clutch packs put in the LSD. its getting installed along with an HP30 ( out of a 95XJ, true trac installed, 4.10 gears installed) in a few weeks hopefully

HP= High Pinion, the gears are reverse cut, its better for diveline angles and such. ZJ's come with a Low Pinion , XJ comes with High Pinion
