the 5.9L zj has a c clipped 44? how does it hold up to the torque of the 5.9L and how does it do with larger tires?

It works just fine. I have both the 5.9 and 33" tires and I'm locking it here anyday now. The axle is plenty strong.

its the d30 you may need to worry about, depending on what size tires you plan to run.

Yes, it is c-clipped. Do not worry about it for moderate ZJ wheeling like the others have said.

any 44a out of a ZJ will fit (bolt up to) your 93ZJ. the axle can be found under 96-98 ZJs with the V8.

Yeah, the center housing is aluminum. They are "ok" axles. They will work fine for ok offroad use.

You will have no problems with a D44A and 33's if you keep your skinny pedal off the floor. Like I said I'm locking mine and moving up to 35's either this year or next year on this axle.
