D30 Vari-lok Is Shot

After 123,000 miles of use, my front Vari-lok is now an open diff . It shows no signs of engagement after numerous tests and on trail use. Fluids are changed regularly, so there's no hope for this unit. Rear still engages within 1/4 spin of the tire.

My question now is what can i do to get some kind of LSD or locker in there. For all the lockers i've seen, i'd need to swap over to an open carrier and get the longer axle shafts. This seems like a pretty spendy way to go about this. Does a guy replace it with a used vari-lok differential? I've also got the 247 case (which works great), so im not sure if that needs to be kept in mind.

Any help would be appreciated.

i would definently consider this, but i dont believe they make it for the vari-lok carrier. so it would require me to get an open carrier and new axle shafts.

somebody correct me if im wrong?

I believe what he's saying is along with replacing the carrier, he'd have to replace the shafts, since they're QD axle shafts.
