Creaking noise when put into drive

When i back out in the mornings, turn, and then shift into drive there is a low creaking noise coming from the back end. Does this mean that my drum breaks are going?

No, it's just reminding you that it's a Jeep.

yeah mine does it every time I shift in or out of reverse and drive, also it does it too on slow stops or creeping forward in traffic. In fact, when I brought it to the garage, they said "it's a jeep thing" so yeah. They said it wouldnt affect my braking ability and I shouldnt be worried, so I havnt been.

Mine always creaks like that, and sometimes it stalls when shifting into drive after i haven't driven for a while.

According to the others I would say it's completely normal. If your drums are in bad condition, fix them. If the noise continues to happen don't worry about it.

Has anyone ever had to repack their wheel bearings because of squeaking

look at that, we're all in the same boat here. When its cold, my jeep makes the squeaking and it slows down as I stop. and yeah I have the drum brake creaak too, but the mechanic told me it was just brake dust and I shouldnt worry about it as long as my brakes work well
