Could this be Crank Sensor?

I have spark.

I have good fuel pressure, 42psi or so.

It cranks fine.

It doesn't start.

1996 4.0

Replaced Cap, Rotor, Plugs.

Totally lost.

Please help.

Do you have an injector pulse? It can be checked with a noid light or by spraying carb clean into the TB.

Fuel pressure at the rail is useless without injector pulse. Cam sensor or a fuse would be the likely cause of that. Hope that helps....

No not usually. If the cps is totally dead then the ecu will not allow spark. However, if the cps is not totally dead then the engine will start and then tries to stall at idle speed.

If you have never replaced the cps before, on your 1989, then I suggest you do it now. If it is not the problem then it soon will be in the future.

Go to the PDC (power distribution center) the relay/fuse panel behind the battery. Check the fuses in there.

So basically, it is either the cam sensor, or fuses in the pdc? Is this correct? If so, I will get in there today and figure it out. If it can be something like the cat converter or 02 sensor, let me know. I have done the CPS on both of my 89s. It sucked.

Thanks.

Check the fuses first

A bad O2 sensor will not have any effect on starting the engine.

Does the Check Engine light come on for 2 seconds when the ignition key is advanced one position forward?

Yes, the engine light comes on for 2 seconds. We pulled codes 12 and 55. That means that the battery was recently disconnected.
